Automobile Damage Appraiser Entitled to Overtime

An automobile damages appraiser, employed by an insurance company, assesses the cost or value of insured item (the vehicle). Among the duties of an automobile damage appraiser would be to inspect the damaged vehicles after an accident to determine the amount of damage done, estimate the cost of repairs, prepare a detailed report of findings, work out a fair settlement, interview or correspond with person making the claims and witnesses, reviews medical reports and records, and consult with the police and fire departments. Someone employed in such a capacity generally does not meet the administrative employee exemption and would thus be entitled to overtime pay.
