Building Inspector Entitled to Overtime

A building inspector is someone who examines the construction, alteration or repair of buildings, highways and streets, sewer and water systems, dams, bridges and other structures to ensure compliance with building codes and ordinances, zoning regulations and contract specifications. Building inspectors, who are generally employed by the government (municipal, county or state), are generally non-exempt and thus entitled to overtime. However, if the building inspector works in a managerial function, then the building inspector may be exempt from overtime.
