Concierge Staff Entitled to Overtime

Concierge staff may include hotel desk clerks, who register arriving guests, assigns rooms, and checks out guests at the end of their stay. These workers, who primarily perform clerical or secretarial work, recording or tabulating data, or performing other mechanical, repetitive, recurrent or routine work, are generally non-exempt and entitled to overtime. However, an employee who performs managerial duties or functions in addition to his or her hotel desk work may fall within the executive exemption from overtime.
