Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians may be Entitled to Overtime

Pharmacy technicians aid pharmacists licensed to provide medication and other health care products to customers/patients. Technicians routinely perform tasks related to receipt of prescription or refill requests by patients, preparation of the prescription and pricing/filing the prescription, such as counting tablets, labeling bottles, answering phones, stocking shelves, and operating cash registers. Pharmacy technicians who work in hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities may also have as their duties reading patients' charts and preparing appropriate medication. Pharmacy technicians are generally not considered learned professionals and thus non-exempt and entitled to overtime.
